06/2010 Rhythm & Roots Exhibit “Rhythm & Roots is a tribute to all of the musical forms that come together to create the Southern sound,” said Gerri Combs, Executive Director of South Arts. “The Rhythm & Roots exhibit, part of our Southern Visions program, showcases key Southern musicians and the instruments they play.”

06/21 Museum Summer Camp I Focused on our Rhythm & Roots Exhibit, this camp will explore music through history.

09/25 Boy Scout Badge Advancement Day Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts are invited to the museum to meet the requirements to earn the following Belt Loops: HERITAGES, GEOGRAPHY, COLLECTING, ART, AND GEOLOGY. We will offer a tour of the museum and several interesting demonstrations.

09/2010 Boy Scout Month CALLING ALL BOYSCOUTS, YOUNG AND OLD

The Oren Dunn City Museum asks that you loan your “Vintage” Boy Scout items for our Annual Boy Scout History Month, to be displayed during our exhibit, entitled, “YOCONA COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS: A VINTAGE HISTORY.” The exhibit will run from September 1-30. Your items will be displayed securely. Also, if you would like to assist in facilitating a badge requirement:

10/9 Tupelo Quilt Connection Exhibit The Quilt Exhibit is one of our most popular exhibits!. The Gumtree Quilter's Guild will display quilts that are not only exquisite, but educational, too.

10/30 Fall Festival The museum will once again host its annual Fall Festival, featuring living history demonstrations, old timey carnival, petting zoo, and craft vendors. Greet the Fall at this fun family event!

10/22 Living History Day School teachers are invited to bring their classes to enter the past, the 1800's that is... Living History demonstrators will talk about and show what life was like for the normal boy or girl in the 1800's. Please contact museum to schedule.
